**SCOPE OF THE ROLE** : Responsible for the support and coverage of the Value Stream Leader during their absence. Technical lead for the department. Operates as a team player at prescribed performance levels consistent with quality
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES** :
+ Completes cycle counts, parts orders, backflush operations, value stream boards, product packets, work assignments, stock moving, training, and technical support for assembly operations.
+ Notifies VSL of defective materials or faulty operations.
+ Aids in maintaining proper flow within the work cell and promotes customer/supplier communications to aid in improved quality.
+ Qualified to perform any operation in assigned assembly department.
+ Maintains a broad knowledge of assembly operations and procedures to ensure a quality product.
+ Responsible for supporting “Standard Work” of assigned assembly cell.
+ Leads by example to maximize output in cell.
+ Notifies Value Stream Owner or Quality Department of defective material or faulty operations and assists in troubleshooting. Identifies and corrects disruptions in Flow
+ Actively participate in improvement projects.
+ Understands and Follows the Lean Methodology
+ 6S – Follows the Guidelines and enforces General Housekeeping and Visual Factory.
+ Provide constructive performance feedback in a non-confrontational manner. Provide feedback to VSM when there are performance issues needing to be addressed.
+ Ensures proper training for new/transferred assemblers and maintains Training matrix certification levels.
+ Performs all other duties as requested.
**PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS** :
+ Thinks independently, shows initiative, anticipates, and prevents problems, performs analysis.
+ Ability to operate computers, hand tools, and use fine motor skills for assembly.
+ Interact with other employees, managers, vendors, and customers.
+ Vision abilities, able to reach/handle/pick. Able to lift/push/pull/carry, able to stand and walk.
+ Able to follow written and verbal instructions, read/write/speak English, able to make informed decisions.
+ Available to work overtime including weekends and work a variable schedule.
+ Ability to lift up to 25 pounds consistently
+ Ability to stand up to 10 hours
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS OR EQUIVALENCIES** :
+ High School Diploma
+ Ability to operate a computer, fax machine, and other office equipment
+ At least 1 year related experience
**OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES** :
+ Ability to work well with others, work ethic and personal initiative.
+ Ability to learn new procedures and train others.
+ Follows procedures and standard work.
+ Ability to read assembly documentation and other required material.
+ Ability to perform basic mathematics calculations.
+ Experience with using measurement equipment
+ Prior assembly experience, use of manufacturing equipment.
+ Experience operating material handling equipment.
+ Computer skills.
+ Excellent attendance history
+ Ability to work unsupervised, self-motivated, good time management skills.
+ Driven to do what it takes to meet our customer’s expectations
+ Maintains the highest level of quality
