Del Webb Legacy Hills in Celina, Texas is looking for a Full-Time Line Cook!

We are seeking a dependable, self-motivated Line Cook to manage daily kitchen operations in a small café kitchen. This role requires someone who is comfortable working independently, taking full ownership of food preparation, execution, and cleaning their own dishes and workspace. The Line Cook is responsible for maintaining high food quality, cleanliness, and efficiency throughout each shift. This position reports directly to the Café Manager.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using appropriate kitchen equipment. Work independently to execute all food preparation and service during assigned shifts. Assume 100% responsibility for the quality, consistency, and presentation of all food served. Follow standard portion sizes, recipes, cooking methods, and all kitchen policies and procedures. Stock and maintain adequate food levels at the line to ensure smooth service. Portion food products prior to cooking according to established specifications. Wash, sanitize, and put away your own dishes, cookware, and utensils throughout the shift. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, including workstations, equipment, storage areas, walk-ins, and refrigeration. Handle, store, label, and rotate products properly following food safety standards. Prepare items for guest consumption following all safety and sanitation practices. Follow proper plate presentation and garnish standards. Assist with prep work during off-peak periods as needed. Close the kitchen independently, completing all cleaning and closing checklists. Attend scheduled staff meetings and contribute ideas for improvement. Perform other duties as assigned by the Café Manager or Manager-on-Duty. Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking. Comfortable working alone and managing multiple responsibilities without direct supervision. Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe equipment use. Commitment to excellent customer service and maintaining a steady, efficient pace. Ability to receive, organize, and maintain inventory, including lifting heavy boxes daily. Highly organized, reliable, and hands-on work ethic. Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to learn and grow within a café environment. Enthusiastic team player who values both customers and coworkers. Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours). Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 lbs. Must have the stamina to work 36–40 hours per week. Ability to communicate effectively in the predominant language(s) of the workplace.
