The LIMS Implementation Specialist/ Consultant (m/f/d) plays a critical role in delivering expert guidance, support, and implementation services for Thermo Fisher Scientific Digital Science Solutions. This role partners closely with scientific customers to help digitize laboratory research, development, and manufacturing operations through enterprise LIMS-centric solutions, integrating ELN, LES, SDMS, and other digital laboratory systems.

By combining deep technical expertise, laboratory understanding, and strong customer focus, the Senior Technical Consultant ensures successful solution delivery, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional customer experience across diverse laboratory environments.

This role is based remotely in Germany or Austria.

A Day in the Life:
You will act as a trusted advisor to customers and internal partners, collaborating with global account teams, services leaders, product managers, and delivery teams. You will lead solution design and implementation activities, oversee system configuration and customization, and support customers through training, documentation, and ongoing system optimization.

You will contribute feedback to product management, share knowledge across teams, and help advance Thermo Fisher Scientific’s leadership in digital science and laboratory digitalization.

What to expect:

Partner with customers to understand laboratory workflows, business needs, and regulatory requirementsDesign, configure, and implement enterprise LIMS-centric laboratory systems aligned with industry best practicesTranslate laboratory workflows into effective digital system designs that support real-world laboratory operationsLead data management activities including data mapping, migration, validation, and governanceIdentify opportunities for workflow optimization, automation, and process improvementDevelop and execute test plans to ensure system quality, performance, and complianceLead and support implementations in GMP- and GLP-regulated environments, ensuring systems are validated and inspection-readyContribute to validation strategy, documentation, and audit readinessDeliver user training, documentation, and post-implementation supportCollaborate with cross-functional global teams across services, product, engineering, and qualitySupport customer engagements through planning, reporting, presentations, and stakeholder communicationContribute to consulting best practices, knowledge sharing, and capability developmentTravel as required to support internal and customer meetings

Keys to Success:

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Information Systems, Engineering, Life Sciences, or equivalent experience

Experience

5+ years of experience in life sciences technical and business consulting, solution architecture, or implementation leadership for enterprise laboratory systemsDemonstrated success delivering medium to large customer engagements across research, development, or manufacturing environmentsHands-on laboratory experience in QC, R&D, analytical, or manufacturing laboratories is highly valued

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

In-depth knowledge of enterprise laboratory platforms, particularly LIMS, as well as ELN, SDMS, LES, CDS, or similar systemsStrong understanding of laboratory workflows, data management principles, and regulated environments including GMP, GLP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and ISOHands-on experience extending or customizing LIMS functionality using C#, APIs, or scripting is a strong advantageExperience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or Postgres, cloud technologies, SDLC methodologies, and validated systemsStrong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skillsAbility to translate complex technical and regulatory requirements into effective, customer-ready solutions
