Description
We are looking for an experienced Property Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure the efficient management of a residential property in Oakland, California. This Contract position requires a proactive leader who can uphold compliance standards, maintain tenant satisfaction, and manage staff effectively. Responsibilities:
• Oversee the daily operations of the property, ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Enforce property rules and lease agreements while addressing and reporting any violations.
• Manage resident files, including move-in documentation and recertifications, in compliance with established guidelines.
• Recruit, train, evaluate, and, when necessary, terminate staff to maintain a productive team.
• Ensure compliance with affordable housing programs by obtaining required documentation and certifications, as well as collecting deposits and rents.
• Respond promptly to tenant requests and complaints, ensuring high levels of customer service.
• Coordinate the completion of work orders and turnover of vacant units within designated timeframes.
• Maintain accurate records and reports related to property operations and tenant interactions.
• Monitor and manage budgets effectively to ensure financial goals are met.
• Utilize property management software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, with knowledge of Boston Post software as a plus.
HUD and Tax Credit experience required!
Requirements • High school diploma required; a bachelor's degree or two years of experience in affordable housing management is preferred.
• Minimum of two years of experience in managing Tax Credit properties, including staff training and evaluation.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; knowledge of Boston Post software is advantageous.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to address tenant concerns professionally and efficiently.
• Basic mathematical skills and fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Familiarity with affordable housing program requirements and compliance standards.
