Job Purpose
The Lifting Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all lifting activities on-site to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations. This role ensures the proper use of lifting equipment, adherence to safety standards, and the seamless execution of lifting operations in accordance with project specifications and regulations.
Job Responsibilities
Develop and review lifting plans, methodologies, and risk assessments aligned with project requirements.Coordinate with engineering teams, project managers, and safety personnel to ensure lifting activities are integrated smoothly into the project schedule.Supervise and assist crane operators, riggers, and other personnel involved in lifting activities.Ensure all lifting equipment is inspected, certified, and maintained according to industry standards and project requirements.Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, conducting regular safety audits and inspections.Provide technical guidance on lifting operations, mitigating risks associated with heavy lifts.Maintain accurate documentation of all lifting activities, inspections, and incident reports.Liaise with third-party inspectors and certification bodies as necessary.Conduct training sessions for site personnel on lifting procedures and safety standards.Ensure compliance with all relevant local and international safety and environmental regulations.Technical Skills
Extensive knowledge of lifting equipment, rigging, and crane operations.Strong understanding of lifting codes, standards (such as OSHA, LOLER, API).Proficiency in lifting calculations, load ratings, and crane setup.Experience in developing detailed lifting plans and risk assessments.Hands-on experience with inspection, certification, and maintenance of lifting gear.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.Good command of safety management systems and incident investigation.Soft Skills

Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in lifting operations on large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.Proven track record of supervising complex lifting activities in harsh or challenging environments.Prior experience working in Middle Eastern countries is preferred.Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or related field).Relevant certifications such as Certified Lifting Engineer, NCCCO, or equivalent.Valid health and safety certifications related to lifting operations.Work Environment
On-site work at industrial construction sites, with exposure to outdoor conditions.Usage of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.Fast-paced environment requiring flexibility and alertness.Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and inspectors.Possible overtime and shift work depending on project demands.
