Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Lifting Manager with strong contractor experience as an Appointed Person (AP) to join our team! In this role, you will lead and safely deliver all lifting operations for complex hospitality or mixed-use developments and construction projects within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, ensuring safe and successful execution of lifting operations, methodologies and applications across all construction phases through to close out and demobilization activities.
Manages and leads, all on-site field lifting operational activities from lifting plan preparation and method statements through to safe execution, works involve multiple contracts and programs. Typically, experience of construction projects having more than 5M man-hours or a total cost of more than US $1Bn. Incumbent is to be thoroughly familiar with required contractual obligations of all facilities to be erected. In addition to lifting supervision, the incumbent is also responsible for resource allocation, field administration, invoice verification, and any field lifting safety inspections. Willingness to relocate to construction site locations is expected.
What you will be doing
Managing, leading, developing detailed plans and method statements, safe systems of work across all on-site construction activities in line with project objects, plans, specifications, and safety standards.Supervise lifting operators, riggers and signallers/banksmen ensure all pre-lift briefings are conducted and all crews involved understand lifting plans and their specific roles.Developing equipment inspection and selection processes and procedures, ensuring lifting plant/equipment, tools, and tackle have stringent inspection regimes and best practices, in place. Site coordination with site management and other trades to ensure lifting areas are clear, secured and safe.Coordinate with design teams, engineering, subcontractors, procurement, environment, safety, to ensure unnecessary lifting movements are ‘designed out’ through effective design principles for safe execution.Supervising multiple site teams and subcontractors, assigning work, monitoring progress, and making recommendations on lifting operations and any corrective actions.Leading site lifting inspections, safety audits, and quality checks to ensure compliance and resolve technical issues.Preparing detailed progress reports and presenting updates to senior management and clients.Promoting construction best practices, technical excellence, and client satisfaction across the project.Implementing and ensuring compliance with safety, QA/QC, and document control protocols.Representing Parsons in meetings with clients, authorities, and external stakeholders, with the ability to enhance and promote client relationships whilst remaining an ambassador for the company.Leading multi-disciplinary lifting assessments and lifting operation workshops to optimize project delivery.Ability to mentor and motivate construction team members/individuals through career guidance and or participation in company sponsored events/award initiativesPerform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.Expected skills you will bring
Minimum 15 years’ relevant experience with extensive hands-on experience in lifting operations, lifting plan development and implementation, lifting preparation and safe systems of work.Degree in Civil Engineer or related fieldNational Plant Operators Registration Scheme NPORS (UK); Lifting Supervisor; CPCS A62 Crane Supervisor; Appointed Person TrainingDeep understanding of LOLER, PUWER and HASAWA; crane load charts, crane types, capabilities and limitations; rigging methods and structural stabilitySuperior initiative, judgement, and ability required to assume the total leadership of a complete largescale program and /or multiple concurrent lifting operations across projects.Strong leadership in controlling and managing site lift operations, lifting teams, and subcontractors.Demonstrated experience working with PMCM and major contractors on complex, high-value projects.Desired skills you will bring
