Breckinridge Park Animal Hospital is an AAHA accredited state of the art hospital located in a fast growing suburb of Dallas-Fort Worth. Northeast Richardson has a great mix of suburban and city life, and with the opening of City Line it is a quick 25 minutes from downtown Dallas. Richardson and the surrounding area have excellent schools, community activities and housing. We are seeking a confident and compassionate full-time associate to join our team. You will be free to utilize your extensive diagnostic capabilities as we have a great clientele that want the best care for their pets. Our team of technicians, veterinary assistants, kennel technicians, and receptionists are highly trained, so you can spend your time practicing veterinarian medicine. Strong interpersonal skills, excellent customer service and communication skills are required as we provide high quality veterinary care to a close-knit community. Our practice focuses on small animal medicine with a special interest in dentistry, internal medicine, and Fear Free techniques. We have a new free-standing building with dental x-ray, digital radiography, ultrasound, cold therapy laser, and advanced anesthetic monitors. We are very fortunate to be in an expanding area with affluent, educated clients and need more doctors to help us continue to care for our growing community. We are looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our expanding team and help us provide excellent experiences for our clients and their pets. By joining our organization as a Veterinary Technician, you will have access to a peer network of over 5,000 professionals, a continuing education allowance, and various learning and development programs to support you in achieving your career goals. Pay range of $20.00-$22.00 per hour based on experience. Position Skills: Professional client communication and education, obtaining medical histories and symptoms Laboratory procedures including but not limited to: hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecals Diagnostic imaging and implementing safety protocols for fellow staff members Nursing skills including: restraining patients, administering medications PO/IV/SUBQ/IM, applying and maintaining bandages, proficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture, surgery prep, anaesthesia monitoring Proficient in dental prophylaxis Position Requirements: Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) or the ability to transfer credentials from state to state.
