Scope of Practice:Practices nursing ethically, competently, and within legal scope of practice.
Practices effective infection-control measures when providing direct care in an occupational setting.
Promotes safe behaviors.
As directed by the supervising health care professionals (RN), maintains records within state and federal laws, and P&G standards ensuring confidentiality and privacy of health and personal information.
Key Responsibilities:Under supervision of a health care professional, and with appropriate training and/or certification(s):
Ability to respond promptly to medical issues that are urgent or emergent within the scope of an LPN and per site standing orders.
Hearing Testing to meet OSHA and P&G requirements.
Possess competent physical assessment skills within the scope of an LPN and refer abnormal findings to supervising RN or MD.
Possess excellent customer service skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and work in a team.
Effective oral & written communication skills.
Proven & demonstrated ability to solve problems.
Ability to multitask, manage multiple priorities, and prioritize tasks based on business needs.
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), PowerPoint, Excel, Word, & Outlook.
Owner of the site Wellness Programs, develop & execute site wellness programs.
Schedules, conducts, and tracks completion of workplace annual medical surveillances.
Assist with OSHA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA GINA, CLIA, State Workers Compensation. Collaborates and assists with Iowa City Oral Care site programs/departments that interface with the Health Center, including but not limited to Human Resources, Health, Safety & Environmental & Quality departments.
Health & safety employee training including but not limited to Bloodborne Pathogens, Ergonomics, Wellness, FMLA, P&G Birth & Recovery/Paid Parental Leave, P&G Disability, and Workers Compensation.
Develop familiarity with manufacturing and production facility practices.
Participate as a back-up team member for the site supervising RN.
Assist in preparation and participate in the Health Systems Key Element Audits.
Job Qualifications
Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent and graduate of an accredited program.
LPN License- State of Iowa.
Minimum of three (2) years’ experience preferred in Primary or Acute Care, Emergency Care, Orthopedic Care, or Occupational Health setting.
Certification in Professional Healthcare Rescuer Adult CPR/AED.
CAOHC Certification for Audiometry or attain certification within the first six (6) months of hire.
Professional Development:Ability to travel to attend P&G and Professional meetings, training & conferences.
