What You'll Do
+ Perform advanced commercial plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair work
+ Maintain plumbing, mechanical, utility, and building systems in a safe, operational condition
+ Install, repair, and maintain medical gas systems, including medical air, oxygen, vacuum, nitrogen, compressed air, and nitrous oxide
+ Troubleshoot plumbing and mechanical issues using testing equipment and analytical problem-solving
+ Support and maintain RO systems and rehab pool systems
+ Install and repair various commercial kitchen equipment
+ Evaluate plumbing systems for performance, efficiency, and improvement opportunities
+ Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
+ Ensure compliance with life safety, plumbing, and building codes
+ Collaborate with Plant Engineering leadership and healthcare teams to support hospital operations
What We're Looking For
Education
+ High school diploma, required
+ One (1) year of vocational or technical school, required
Licensure & Certifications
+ City or county Journeyman’s Card and/or State Plumber’s License, required
+ Valid North Carolina Driver’s License (NCDL), required
Experience
+ Five (5)+ years of experience in commercial plumbing installation and maintenance, required
Required Skills & Knowledge
+ Strong working knowledge of plumbing, building, and life safety codes
+ Advanced ability to troubleshoot and repair plumbing and mechanical systems using testing equipment
+ Demonstrated experience with medical gas systems, including medical air, oxygen, vacuum, nitrogen, compressed air, and nitrous oxide
+ Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
+ Experience installing and repairing commercial kitchen equipment
+ Ability to assess plumbing systems for performance, reliability, and efficiency improvements
Preferred Qualifications
+ Healthcare facility experience, strongly preferred
+ Experience with RO systems and rehab pools, required
+ Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems
+ Basic computer skills and experience using PC-based programs
+ Ability to recognize and respond to changes in equipment and system sounds
