Licensed Master Social Worker
The Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) delivers vital support to patients and families facing the challenges of acute and chronic illness. With a specialized focus on substance abuse interventions and psychiatric service coordination, this role is central to the holistic care experience—providing psychosocial assessments, discharge planning, emotional counseling, and community resource linkage across assigned units. The LMSW plays a key role in helping individuals and families navigate complex life transitions, adjust to new health realities, and access the services they need to heal and thrive. Drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches, this position addresses the social, financial, emotional, and cultural barriers to effective treatment and recovery. Whether supporting end-of-life care or guiding patients through rehabilitation and recovery, the LMSW is a trusted advocate and resource in the continuum of care.   Hourly Pay Rate: $30.37 - $44.80   Qualifications Education: Requires a Master’s Degree in Social Work. Experience: Preferred two years of experience providing acute care hospital case management services (e.g., psychosocial assessment, discharge planning, coordination, community referrals, or support/counseling) that demonstrate a strong understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities in acute and/or ambulatory care settings. Certification/Licensure: Must be and maintain licensure by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as either a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). If the position is in an ambulatory setting, the applicant must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of hire date. Must present actual card within 90 days of applying for the fingerprint clearance card. Must obtain a BLS card through an American Heart Association (AHA) training center within 30 days of hire. CPI certification and BLS Card training will be provided upon hire/transfer to the BH department. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must demonstrate clinical knowledge and skill in case management, hospital, complex psychosocial interventions, and community resource management.   Requires excellent communication and clinical skills and the ability to maintain professional rapport with team members, physicians, and internal and external partners.  Requires excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work with professionals and maintain confidentiality standards.  Requires the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and have excellent organizational skills.  Must possess solid analytical and problem-solving skills.   Requires basic computer word processing skills (e.g., formatting, editing, printing, composing email, internet searches, etc.) to navigate through an electronic medical record using a computer successfully.  Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.  Bilingual and bicultural are a plus.
