Licensed Electrician (Commercial) – JLL

What this job involves:

Join our facilities team as a Licensed Electrician where you'll serve as the primary electrical subject matter expert for a multi-building commercial portfolio. This role combines advanced technical expertise with strategic thinking to ensure safe, reliable, and code-compliant electrical infrastructure operations. You'll work with high autonomy, supporting complex distribution systems while contributing to long-term asset performance and operational excellence. This position offers the opportunity to lead electrical projects, mentor team members, and drive continuous improvement in a dynamic commercial environment.

What your day-to-day will look like:

Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of commercial electrical systems including single- and three-phase systems up to 480V, panels, transformers, lighting systems, and motor controlsExecute preventative maintenance on electrical distribution equipment, emergency power systems, ATS's, generators, and lighting systems to ensure optimal performanceSupport electrical projects including running new feeds, installing panels, powering new equipment, and coordinating with contractors on complex installationsComplete work orders in JLL's CMMS platform while maintaining accurate documentation of labor, materials, and system conditions to meet Service Level AgreementsConduct root cause analysis for recurring failures and proactively identify infrastructure risks to recommend sustainable repair or capital replacement strategiesProvide cross-functional support for light plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical tasks while collaborating with Facilities and Engineering teamsEnsure strict compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA standards, and JLL safety policies including proper Lockout/Tagout procedures.

Required Qualifications:

Valid Electrical License – State of Texas (Journeyman or equivalent)5+ years of commercial or industrial electrical experience with strong knowledge of NEC requirements and Texas regulationsAdvanced troubleshooting capability in electrical distribution systems (208V/480V), motor controls, transformers, and emergency/life-safety systemsAbility to read and interpret electrical one-lines, schematics, and construction drawings.Experience operating within a CMMS-based maintenance environment with strong understanding of electrical safety and LOTO proceduresPhysical ability to climb ladders, work at heights up to 20 feet, operate scissor lifts, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Level 1 and Level 2 Thermography certificationsExperience in commercial, industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, or mission-critical environmentsFamiliarity with VFDs, UPS's, STS's, PDU's, automation controls, and power quality diagnosticsExperience supporting capital projects and contractor oversight in active commercial or industrial environments.

Location: Round Rock, TX

Work Shift: 7:30am-4:30pm Monday through Friday.
