Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Facility: Norfolk City Jail Address: Norfolk, VA About the Role Norfolk City Jail is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to provide counseling, crisis intervention, and psychosocial support to incarcerated individuals across a wide range of ages and needs. The LCSW will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized plans of care, address emotional and behavioral concerns, and support patient stabilization within a correctional environment. This role requires strong clinical judgment, the ability to manage a diverse caseload, and comfort working in a secure facility. The LCSW will see approximately 10–15 patients per day. Key Responsibilities + Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and psychosocial support + Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized plans of care + Conduct assessments and document findings in accordance with facility standards + Support patients experiencing emotional, behavioral, or social challenges + Maintain accurate and timely documentation + Uphold safety, security, and confidentiality standards within a correctional setting + Participate in care planning, case reviews, and interdisciplinary communication + Adhere to all facility, state, and federal regulations + Perform additional duties as assigned Shift Schedule Shift: Day Shift Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday Caseload: 10–15 patients per day Minimum Requirements + Master’s degree in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program + Active LCSW license in the state of practice + Minimum one year of social work experience preferred + Current CPR (if applicable) + TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (as required) + Current health certificate (per state/contract regulations) + Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements + Strong communication skills; English proficiency required + Must be at least 18 years of age Compensation Packages Local LCSW Local Pay: $42 Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,680 Travel LCSW Hourly Pay: $25 Meals: $400 Housing: $700 Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,100 Facility Information Norfolk City Jail provides mental health and social services to incarcerated individuals requiring emotional, behavioral, and psychosocial support.
