Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York, one of the country's top fertility centers, is recruiting for a Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist in our Manhattan office.
Responsibilities Include:
Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results. Attention to detail is essential with these duties; labeling must be clear and legible Perform chemiluminescent immunoassays on serum samples, using automated equipment. This includes calibrating; cleaning and maintaining the equipment as required by the manufacturer Perform semen analyses, including sperm count, sperm motility, sperm morphology and viability. Perform routine sperm preps for inseminations, maintaining sterile technique throughout Maintain records that demonstrate that PT samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies; document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed Follow the laboratory’s established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels of performance Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results. Must correct the problems and/or immediately notify the general supervisor, technical supervisor, and clinical consultant or laboratory director Study and review laboratory operating manual and become familiar with quality assurance, quality control, safety procedures and operating guidelines for performing laboratory services Study and review OSHA requirements for safe laboratory operation. Always wear appropriate lab personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain protective, safe laboratory environment Participate in laboratory operations as directed Attend laboratory meetings as requested Participate in laboratory proficiency testing programs Attend skill enhancement programs as directed by supervisor From time–to-time, provide assistance and support to RMA of NY satellite laboratories as requested by Laboratory ManagerRequirements:
Have a BS in biological, or clinical laboratory science Current NYS clinical laboratory Technologist licensure is required Must demonstrate an aptitude for performance of laboratory services Must have the aptitude to learn to make appropriate judgments about the clinical significance of laboratory data Have proven skills to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer Ability to work in a high standard, stressful environment Ability to communicate accurately and concisely Excellent interpersonal skillsRMA of New York offers a great team-oriented working environment as well as competitive benefits.
