Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. **Job Summary** The Residential College Creative Arts Studio Arts Program https://lsa.umich.edu/rc is seeking to hire a part time Intermittent Lecturer to teach one ceramic course (RCARTS 289.001) in Studio Arts for the Winter 2026 semester. This position will be a 33.33% position for teaching one course for the winter semester. **Course Description** This course introduces students to a variety of forming and finishing techniques in the ceramic process. Students are expected to spend a minimum of 6 hours a week in outside-of-class studio involvement and are responsible for approximately 9 clay projects, as well as for the readings which coordinate with lectures, films and discussions. The course also includes basic ceramics history and science, as well as critiques of student work and a final evaluative critique, as well as a written exam, ongoing studio maintenance, clay preparation and kiln operation. **Responsibilities*** The candidate will provide instruction for classes of approximately fifteen undergraduates per class in an interdisciplinary liberal arts program. Additional duties include participation in college- and program-wide activities, including student exhibition, program meetings and projects, and providing written evaluations for Residential College students enrolled in the course. **Required Qualifications*** The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise and background in ceramics instruction. A mentorship model of studio arts instruction, an established art practice appropriate to years in the field, and a record of ceramic exhibitions are also expected. Minimum M.F.A. or equivalent post graduate experience in ceramics. **Desired Qualifications*** Previous teaching experience is highly desirable. **Modes of Work** Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
