Description
We are looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to join our team on a contract basis in Hartford, Connecticut. This role requires a skilled and detail-oriented individual who can provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys in a fast-paced legal environment. Responsibilities:
• Manage and coordinate legal calendars, ensuring all deadlines are met and court dates are accurately scheduled.
• Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and filings with precision and attention to detail.
• Handle e-filing processes for both state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with all applicable rules and procedures.
• Organize and maintain case files and records using document management systems.
• Assist attorneys with dictation, transcription, and drafting of legal documents.
• Conduct administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, managing phone calls, and processing incoming correspondence.
• Facilitate communication between attorneys, clients, and court personnel to ensure seamless case management.
• Stay updated on state and federal court rules and procedures to ensure accurate filings and compliance.
• Provide analytical and organizational support to attorneys, enabling them to focus on case strategy.
• Utilize software tools, including Microsoft Office and document management systems, to streamline work processes.
Requirements • A minimum of three years of litigation experience in a legal environment.
• Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and prioritize workloads in a dynamic setting.
• Proficiency in supporting multiple attorneys while maintaining attention to detail.
• Familiarity with court rules, calendaring processes, e-filing systems, and administrative protocols for state and federal courts.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, paired with excellent analytical and organizational abilities.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience with document management systems such as iManage is preferred.
• Knowledge of dictation and transcription processes is a plus. TalentMatch®
