Legal Secretary
Description We are offering a long-term contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Legal Secretary in Buffalo, New York. You will be a part of our legal team, providing support to our attorneys in a variety of tasks and ensuring smooth operations. Your role will be office-based, providing a chance to work closely with the team. Responsibilities: • Provide administrative support to two attorneys, including dictation and scheduling • Answer incoming calls and handle inquiries professionally • Request and manage medical records as required • Manage electronic filing of documents to ensure easy access and retrieval • Use Microsoft Office and Cloudlex software for various tasks • Employ your skills in Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS), Case Management Software, CompuLaw, and Billing Functions • Prepare briefing documents to assist attorneys in case proceedings • Manage the calendar of the attorneys ensuring all appointments and deadlines are accurately logged • Build and maintain strong client relations • Handle tasks related to Consumer Electronics as needed. Requirements • Proficiency in Aderant, a comprehensive legal practice management software. • Mastery of Adobe Acrobat, specifically for creating, editing, and managing PDF documents. • Familiarity with Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS) for real estate transactions. • Experience with case management software to organize and manage legal cases effectively. • Knowledge of CompuLaw, especially for managing deadlines and mitigating risks. • Ability to handle billing functions with accuracy and efficiency. • Demonstrated skills in briefing, including summarizing legal documents and cases. • Experience in calendar management, ensuring no overlapping appointments and meeting deadlines. • Strong client relations skills, maintaining professionalism and courtesy at all times. • Knowledge of consumer electronics, particularly in the context of legal research and communication tools.
