The opportunity

As a Legal Secretary within EY’s Core Business Services, you will provide high-level administrative and legal support to our internal legal teams. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of legal processes, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting the delivery of exceptional service across the firm.

 

Your key responsibilities

•Draft, format, and proofread legal documents including contracts, briefs, motions, and correspondence.

•Manage filing systems for legal documents ensuring accessibility and confidentiality.

•Process and file legal documents with courts and regulatory bodies.

•Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements for legal professionals.

•Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence with professionalism and discretion.

•Support the preparation of presentations, engagement letters, and reports.

•Maintain and update legal databases and document management systems.

•Assist in legal research and trial preparation when required.

•Liaise with internal teams, external counsel, and clients as needed.

To qualify for the role, you must have

•Minimum 3 years of experience as a legal secretary or legal assistant.

•Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and court rules.

•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software (e.g., Clio, ProLaw).

•Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.

•Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.

•Fluent in Portuguese and English (spoken and written).


Ideally, the candidate also have

•Diploma or certification in Secretarial Studies, Legal Administration, or related field.

•Experience in a multinational or professional services environment is a plus.
