Legal Counsel and Ethics & Compliance Officer – Latin America

We are seeking a highly skilled attorney to strategically and efficiently manage legal matters across a broad range of areas, including regulatory, corporate, mergers and acquisitions, litigation, contracts, and competition law. This role will be responsible for overseeing all legal affairs in Colombia, the Andean Region, Central America, and the Caribbean, and will also serve as the Ethics & Compliance Officer for the Latin America region.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Coordinate and supervise external law firms, ensuring quality, timeliness, and cost-efficiency of legal services.
+ Draft and review a variety of contracts to support key business initiatives.
+ Oversee and manage disputes and litigation.
+ Provide business-focused and solution-oriented legal advice to enable the business to achieve its goals.
+ Support internal teams with legal guidance and training, promoting best practices.
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for Ethics & Compliance matters across Latin America.
+ Deliver face-to-face Ethics & Compliance training to employees, including at key sites.
+ Support regional ethics investigations in coordination with the Global Ethics Investigation Leader and local teams; participate in root cause analyses.
+ Travel periodically to Colombia and other countries in the region to engage with local business leaders, deliver training, and provide on-the-ground support.
+ Ensure alignment with global compliance standards and contribute to a culture of integrity.
**Competencies**
+ **Languages:** Native Spanish; fluent English. Portuguese is a plus.
+ **Legal Experience:** Minimum of 7 years of broad legal experience, ideally within a global/regional legal function, a reputable law firm, and/or a multinational corporation.
+ **Education & Certification:** Law degree from an accredited institution with strong academic credentials; Ability to obtain and/or maintain Corporate Compliance and Ethics Professional Certification (CCEP/CEUs).
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ In-house legal experience in multinational companies.
+ Knowledge of the agribusiness sector and its legal landscape.
+ Certifications or formal training in Ethics & Compliance. **\#LI-Hybrid**
