A well-known Manchester-based organisation is looking to appoint a Legal Counsel on a fixed-term basis to support a key global contracting initiative. Operating in 20+ countries, the company is dedicated to advancing health, wellbeing, and sustainability, with a collaborative in-house legal team that values integrity, purpose and professional development.
What You’ll Do
Reporting to the General Counsel, you’ll work closely with legal colleagues across the UK, Europe and America, supporting the negotiation and delivery of high-value commercial agreements. You’ll play a key role in aligning legal input with commercial priorities, particularly within manufacturing, procurement and supply chain.
Drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts including manufacturing, supply, logistics, warehousing, services, and NDAs
Advising on contractual risk and early-stage disputes
Managing external legal advisors where required
Supporting legal business partners and coordinating cross-functional legal input
Supporting broader commercial and compliance initiatives across the Group
What You Bring
You’re a commercially minded and adaptable lawyer with solid experience advising on complex commercial contracts. You’re comfortable working independently, enjoy collaborating across jurisdictions, and take a pragmatic approach to legal risk.
Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with in-house experience
Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills
Solid understanding of commercial contract structures (e.g. supply chain, manufacturing, logistics)
Confident advising non-legal stakeholders and influencing outcomes
Experience in the life sciences or manufacturing sector would be advantageous
Knowledge of UK/EU competition law
Experience working within a global legal function
