Job Title: Senior Legal Contracts Specialist
Reports To: Senior Employment and Litigation Counsel
Job Description: The individual in the Senior Legal Contracts Specialist role is responsible for end-to-end management of contracts, from drafting to maintenance, and compliance. This role involves extensive collaboration within the internal legal team as well as members of the Company’s talent acquisition and field and hospital leadership teams, and other functions as needed, to ensure employment contracts are accurate, legally sound, and aligned with organizational goals. This individual will play a critical role in contract interpretation, risk analysis, and process improvement.
The ideal candidate will be curious and work independently, with little supervision and have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, to accomplish the following:
• Contract Development & Negotiation o Draft, review, and develop legally-compliant contract language in a time-sensitive environment o Develop and maintain standard contract templates and clauses o Ensure contracts comply with relevant laws, regulations, and Company policies o Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on employment-contract related matters o Collaborate with legal counsel on complex, high-risk, or intricate contracts or requests o Keen understanding of related areas of compliance and their importance
• Contract Management o Maintain and improve a centralized contract management system o Make recommendations for process improvements o Identify opportunities to streamline contract processes and contribute to the implementation of contract management best practices o Ability to effectively and efficiently collaborate with contract management system vendors to develop workflow solutions or to troubleshoot
• Collaboration & Communication o Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding contract status, issues, and potential risks o Collaborate with internal clients on contract negotiations and amendments o Develop and provide training and guidance to internal teams on contract-related policies, procedures, and workflows o Ability to meaningfully contribute to relevant project teams across the enterprise o Willingness to take on cross-functional or interdepartmental assignments, as needed
• Risk Management o Identify and assess legal and business risks associated with contracts o Identify areas where revisions may impact other provisions in the contract and draft accordingly o Develop strategies to mitigate potential risks and ensure contract terms are favorable o Escalate complex or high-risk issues to senior management or legal counsel
Key Skills and Qualifications: • Understanding of contract law and legal principles, an emphasis on employment law is ideal • Excellent contract drafting, negotiation, and communication skills • Proficiency in contract management systems and related software • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills • Bachelor's degree or greater in a related field (law, business, etc.) • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and data entry
Compensation: The compensation range is between $90,000-$100,000 with opportunity for short term incentive.
