Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Administer leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal, state and local laws (Family and Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”), Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”), Uniformed Services Employment and Re-employment Rights Act (“USERRA”), Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.) and ensure compliance with company policiesCommunicate with employees and their management regarding the leave process. Ensure that all parties are aware of the qualifications and required documentation to meet leave requirementsTrack leave administration process from the employees’ initial notice of leave through the return to work. Determine leave eligibility/designation, coordinate required paperwork along with any necessary medical certification in accordance with specified legal requirements and best practicesCoordinate intermittent or reduced schedule leave as necessaryFacilitate the interactive process as necessary between employee and the companyMaintain reasonable communication with all parties to facilitate a smooth and timely return to workVerify and confirm employment/leave status to payroll to ensure proper accounting of payroll recordsFacilitate other leave requests to include military leave, ADA accommodations, workers comp, intermittent or reduced work schedule, disability claimsPreserve confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files in accordance with HIPAA and Employee Privacy standardsMaintain up-to-date knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the Family and Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”), Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”), other state and local lawsEnsure timely employee insurance premiums to include proper accounting or request for delinquent paymentsMaintain Absencesoft and HRIS system to timely documents all leave requests and casesConducts all business in a professional and ethical mannerD.R.
