Leave Of Absence Case Manager-Remote

Job Title: LOA Case Manager

Job Description

The DLS Case Manager is responsible for providing case management for all types of leave of absence and disability life events. This role involves serving as a single point of contact for employees throughout an entire leave of absence or disability event, ensuring a connected and trusted case management experience.

Responsibilities

Initiate and respond to inquiries about leave and disability events, benefits, and options available to employees.Serve as a point of contact for 150-200 assigned employees, providing holistic case management services, including reviewing medical documentation to adjudicate leaves in compliance with relevant laws and benefit plans.Leverage duration guidelines, best practice tools, and resources to support oversight of a leave event as appropriate.Critically assess and adjust the case management plan to meet an employee’s changing needs.Address and respond to sensitive situations and troubleshoot issues to remove barriers during or after a leave event.Ensure effective communication during employee-impacting issues and facilitate a smooth return to work for employees.Educate managers and business partners on employee concerns and needs before and after leave.Communicate regular updates to employees and stakeholders both verbally and in writing.Ensure compliance with standard work, federal/state regulations, and company policy.Maintain system records to ensure accurate and timely documentation.Consult, coordinate, and partner with third-party administrators, HR, Safety, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, and other departments as appropriate.

Essential Skills

1+ years of experience as a case manager using case management systems.Experience reviewing cases for eligibility and determining appropriate benefits.2+ years of experience in Human Resources or customer service in a leave and/or disability field.Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Strong customer service focus with a high standard.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organizational and time management skills.Adaptability and flexibility to changes in scope of work.Strong technical skills and computer aptitude.Ability to prioritize, manage, and complete work with tight deadlines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of federal or state Leave and Disability regulations, specifically ADA/ADAAA and FMLA.Experience working with confidential information.Experience providing case management services for a large, multi-state employer.Experience providing guidance on leave of absence, disability plans, accommodations, human resources, benefits, or employee matters.

Work Environment

This position is remote, requiring candidates to have a dedicated work-from-home setup in accordance with the virtual work-from-home policy.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
