Leasing Administrative Assistant (Residential Properties)

Job Description

The Leasing Consultant plays a key role in attracting and supporting residents by providing exceptional customer service, guiding prospective tenants through the leasing process, and maintaining accurate administrative records. This role combines sales, leasing, and administrative responsibilities within a busy, high-occupancy apartment community.

Responsibilities

Greet and assist prospective tenants, providing detailed information about available units, pricing, lease terms, and community amenities.Conduct professional property tours, highlighting features that match each prospect’s needs and preferences.Prepare, explain, and execute lease agreements in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person visits.Address tenant questions and concerns, ensuring a positive resident experience and timely follow-up.Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure service requests and tenant issues are resolved quickly and effectively.Process rental applications, verify references, and conduct credit and background checks in accordance with established procedures.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of leases, renewals, move-ins, move-outs, and occupancy reports.Perform data entry and general administrative tasks using property management and office software.Support leasing and sales goals by following up with prospects and promoting available units.Answer phones professionally and route calls or messages to the appropriate team members.Collaborate with onsite team members to ensure smooth daily operations and a welcoming community environment.

Essential Skills

At least 1 year of experience in leasing or property management.Strong customer service and sales-oriented mindset with the ability to build rapport with prospective and current residents.Experience working in apartment buildings or residential real estate environments.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.Solid computer skills and comfort with data entry and digital record-keeping.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups of people.Ability to answer phones and manage multiple communication channels in a professional manner.Organized and detail-oriented approach, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.Strong problem-solving abilities with a customer-focused approach.Availability to work weekends or evenings as needed to support leasing activity and community needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with Entrata property management software is a plus.background in real estate or sales customer service is highly beneficial.Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative onsite team.Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-occupancy community environment.

Work Environment

This role is based onsite at a large apartment community with approximately 795 units and a high occupancy rate of around 96%. You will work as part of a collaborative onsite team of about 10 people. The standard schedule is Monday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with Sunday and Tuesday as regular days off. The position includes a one-hour lunch break each workday. You will work in a professional leasing office environment using property management software, Microsoft Office Suite, phones, email, and other standard office equipment. Full-time employees become eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefits after 60 days of employment. Commission is available after a 4-month contract period and is paid on a per-unit basis, offering additional earning potential tied to leasing performance.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
