Main Role and responsibilities:
Administration
- Assists the Director of Human Resources in the smooth and efficient running of the Human Resources Division, ensuring that all Hyatt International initiatives, Philosophies, Policies and Procedures and work processes are strictly adhered to.
- Oversees and coordinates the creation, compilation, approval, update and protection of the hotel’s Training Academy materials and the central library of resources.
- Ensures that all employee Training Materials, Resources and Records are kept up to date.
- Assists and participates in Meetings as scheduled.
Customer Service
- Leads the hotel’s focus on providing consistent service excellence by developing and providing suitable training resources and by equipping and assisting others to train people.
- Inspires the team and provides training support to provide exceptional levels of service to the hotel’s external customers (guests).
- Provides the appropriate level of professional, courteous and caring service to other employees (internal customers) and other visitors to the division.
Financial
- Plans and monitors the hotel's Training Budget.
- Ensures that all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to financial record keeping, money handling and licensing are adhered to, including the timely and accurate reporting of financial information.
Marketing
- Assists the Director of Human Resources with the compilation, implementation of all employee communications.
- Ensures that all in-house rules and regulations are communicated to employees and implemented.
- Markets the need for training programmes to others, identifying and communicating the value of training, exhibiting how training affects the bottom line.
- Markets the Training function by regularly communicating the outcome of training initiatives.
Operational
- Reviews the progress of the hotel's Training Plan and make recommendations where necessary.
- Assists the Executive Committee, Heads of Department and Departmental Trainers in identifying training needs within each department.
- Co-ordinates and monitors the hotel's Training Plan and Training Calendar.
- Co-ordinates the compilation and review of the hotel’s Departmental Operations Manuals.
- Assists with the monitoring of departmental standards as defined in the Departmental Operations Manual.
- Responsible for the security and maintenance of the hotel’s Training Room, Training Equipment and Materials.
- Advises the Director of Human Resources of any new support material that would be beneficial to the hotel.
- Ensures that the recommended quota of Departmental Trainers is trained for each department.
- Ensures the maximum utilisation of Departmental Trainers in each department.
- Plans, implements and monitors, in conjunction with other members of the Human Resources Division both General/Core and Management Training.
- Implements, monitors and localises the company’s training materials, including Training For Your Future, Leadership Series, Harvard Manage Mentor and other e-learning initiatives.
- Co-ordinates and monitors the Hyattrack training programmes.
- Monitors the performance of the Training team and Foreign Language Trainers, ensuring they are developed to their maximum potential and efficiency.
- Provides employee feedback through Hyatt talk along with the General Manager and employee feedback surveys.
Personnel
- Assists in overseeing employees to follow the People Brand, the principles of FITS, the fundamentals of Hyatt hospitality, that they maintain appropriate grooming standards, and that they value the Touches of Hyatt.
- Ensures the punctuality and appearance of all Human Resources employees, making sure that they wear the correct uniform and maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene, according to the hotel and department’s grooming standards.
- Conducts half yearly and annual Performance Development Discussions with your team members and to support them in their professional development goals. Ensures that they in turn conduct the half yearly and annual Performance Development Discussions with their employees.
- Supports the development of supervisory and management personnel in the hotel, through the implementation of effective management training programmes.
- Ensures a strong professional relationship with all levels of employees within the hotel, taking an active interest in their safety and development.
- Supports the implementation of The People Brand in every department in the hotel.
- Feedback the results of the Employee Engagement Survey and Employee Engagement Survey and ensure that the relevant changes are implemented.
Other Duties
- Ensures high standards of personal presentation and grooming.
- Maintains strong, professional relationships with relevant representatives from competitor hotels, business partners and other organisations, including local schools, hotel schools and universities.
- Responds to changes in the Human Resources function as dictated by the industry, company and hotel.
- Reads the hotel's Employee Handbook and has an understanding of and adheres to the hotel's rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety.
- Exercises responsible management and behaviour at all times, positively representing the management team and Hyatt International.
- Attends training sessions and meetings as and when required.
- Carries out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
