Learning & Logistics Support Specialist
Job Title: Learning Logistics & Support Specialist (LLSS) Location: University of Maine at Augusta (UMA) Work Schedule: The Learning Logistics & Support Specialist (LLSS) role requires a flexible Monday-to-Friday schedule. Possible starting or ending times range from 7 am to 8:30 pm, with coverage needs that may vary from one semester to another. Though there is an opportunity for some hybrid work, on-campus support is essential, and occasional travel may be required. This is not your typical support role – you'll be at the forefront of educational technology, weaving together various learning initiatives to support faculty, students and staff across the Academic Services Unit (ASU). The LLSS will provide support in both Academic Logistics and the Media Support Services departments. This position will have the opportunity to broaden the professional experience by supporting other departments within the Academic Services Division. Shape the Academic Experience: Primary Assignments Our Academic Logistics Team As a valued member of the Academic Logistics team, you will be providing crucial administrative, logistical, and project support services to members of the Academic Services Division, as well as faculty and proctor locations statewide. You will be instrumental in the development, design, training, and awareness of support services offered and aid in the communication efforts to identify faculty, staff and student logistical needs before each semester starts. The position holds a pivotal role in the success of our testing services, involving active participation in testing processes to ensure a seamless testing experience and alleviate the stressors associated with examination days. Collaboration with members of the Academic Service Division enhances the scope of this role, offering the opportunity to provide advanced support and training on UMS Learning Platforms (Brightspace, Kaltura, Zoom, etc.) to faculty, staff, and students. Our Media Support Services. At the forefront of delivering hyflex classes for UMA, this role within the Media Services Team focuses on partnering with faculty and coordinating the seamless delivery of classes, ensuring an enhanced learning experience in the connected classroom and beyond. In addition, you will assist in the creation of faculty video content specifically tailored for hybrid and hyflex educational and marketing purposes. There will be the opportunity to engage in research and resource development related to distributed teaching and learning technology. Secondary Assignments Faculty Development, Tech Hub, Event’s and Learning Media Production, and Library Teams While working with other teams of the Academic Services Division, such as the Faculty Development Center, Tech Hub, Events & Learning Media Production, and Library, you will be able to provide advanced support, training, coaching and leadership in innovation on UMS learning platforms, classroom technologies, web apps, digitizing resources, and connected campus events to both faculty and students.
