Lean Process Lead - GMS Implementation

Work Arrangement​​

​Onsite - This position requires an employee to be on-site on a full-time basis.

The Role

We are seeking Lean Process Leads in Global Manufacturing System (GMS) Implementation to join our team in Warren, MI. You will partner directly with operations in implementing Lean Manufacturing Systems and analyze data to help departments improve performance. This role will develop and standardize critical Lean/GMS project initiatives focused on sharing best implementation practices for clear and concise achievement of results. Drive and coordinate continuous improvement projects. Successful applicants will train, teach, mentor, and communicate Lean/GMS processes with leadership and team members as required. You will also support establishing local facility Lean/GMS implementation plans with staff, monitor achievements, and establish course correction and support where necessary. Key function is to eliminate waste of time, money, materials, equipment time, energy and other resources that do not generate value. What You’ll Do:

Develop, recommend, and implement Lean/GMS Processes which will result in the improvement of operations processes and or quality

Define systemic issues that require project management implementation techniques of Lean/GMS elements to achieve business results

Create project plans to improve current conditions based on a critical roadmap and key achievements

Train leadership within a facility on tools to identify strengths and weakness of an organization

Document implementation plans and share results with other functions from start to finish

Lead departmental support resources for implementation activities

Monitor progress of internal Lean/GMS calibration status and mentor organization to achieve enhancements through implementation plans

Select, develop, and deliver Lean/GMS training packages for all levels of the organization

Use and promote "Go and See" to support roll out of Lean/GMS on the shop floor

Participate in Lean/GMS basket weave/Cross functional support activities

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)​​:

Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field, along with experience working in a manufacturing environment, i.e. background or similar experience

Ability to read a facility and identify key Lean/GMS tools and techniques that can be implemented to change both behaviors and business metrics

Capable of training any of the 5 GMS principles and the supporting elements at multiple levels of the organization

Shop floor team coaching experience with Business Plan Deployment, Problem Solving, Standardized Work and Throughput Improvement

Manufacturing experience

Outstanding interpersonal and relationship leadership skills to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization as needed

Emerging partnership and teamwork skills and ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers in a fast-paced environment
