Lean, Performance, and Continuous Improvement Coach

Our Munitions teams in Benalla and Mulwala produce propellants, explosives and munitions for defence and commercial uses. With ongoing investment into research and development, we produce some of the world’s most high-performing guided weapons and explosive ordnance systems. And being at the forefront of a rapidly evolving industry gives our teams constant opportunities to build on their technical expertise.

We are looking for a Lean and Continuous Improvement Coach to join our dynamic and growing team, driving operational excellence through Lean methodologies, performance improvement, and continuous improvement initiatives in an industrial setting.

Located in Benalla or Mulwala, on Pangerang and Yorta Yorta land, your responsibilities will include:

Manage and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance productivity, error reduction, reduce costs, and improve quality

Collaborate with Functional managers to help overcome operational ensure proper metrics are in place, identify process bottlenecks, conduct root cause analysis, and implement improvement

Analyse and track performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to achieve business objectives

Lead and coach cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and driving change

Provide communication and coaching to employees and leaders on Lean Transformation and daily management initiatives

Partner with and provide leadership to the AM Leadership team and other senior leaders in determining priorities and capability gaps 

On your first day in this role, we expect you to possess the following skills, experience, and qualities:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or Engineering preferred

Must have solid experience in lean business practices in Manufacturing or Operation

Lean and Six Sigma certification (Green Belt preferred)

Goal-oriented, reliable, self-motivated, and capable of multitasking

Strong project management, initiative, and analytical skills with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and priority management

Strong critical thinking and effective communication skills at all levels, along with coaching abilities that foster sustainable change.

Must be eligible for Australian defence clearances
