LEAF BLENDING MANAGER

As the Leaf Blending Manager, you will lead and oversee all aspects of leaf blending, chemistry delivery, quality assurance, and operational activities related to blend maintenance and data accuracy. You will be responsible for strategic and operational planning, budgeting, KPI development, and managing a dedicated team to meet and exceed business objectives aligned with global and regional quality standards.

Your leadership will ensure the seamless monitoring and control of leaf processing and blending activities, including acting as a power user for the F2S system, managing monthly reconciliations, overseeing data reporting, tracking travel and expenses, and fostering talent development within your team.

  Key Responsibilities Planning and Strategy Develop and implement strategies for run-of-crop utilization, optimising the use of tobacco in blends in alignment with global quality specifications. Plan blend production according to crop throw estimations, coordinating closely with global quality directives. Collaborate with the Leaf Quality Manager and global functions to ensure consistent quality standards and operational alignment. Oversee power user requirements for system testing (UAT) and ensure timely completion. Coordinate T&E budgeting with the Planning & Administration Manager and drive policy development for the blending department. Assist in maintaining and updating Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies and Internal Management System (IMS) documentation, emphasizing continuous improvement. Blending Operations Management Supervise the quality of blends throughout all stages including leaf blending, OTP processing, and chemical analysis, guiding teams to promptly address any deviations. Manage green leaf planning and logistics coordination with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations. Monitor blend consistency and uniformity, providing rapid resolution of any quality integrity issues. Support Inspection & Grading (IG) alignment activities alongside LPI/GLQ teams prior to processing and trial packs. Oversee yield and production reporting and analyze quality data including chemistries, Non-Conformance Processes (NCPs), and Tobacco Research and Measurement (NTRM) reports. Quality Assurance and Blend Management Assist in ensuring all quality assurance processes and inspections meet global standards, complying fully with Quality Assurance Manuals. Maintain strict adherence to blend parameters and quality specifications provided by the QA team. Identify and implement continuous process improvement opportunities focusing on blend uniformity and product consistency. Systems Maintenance and Data Reporting Ensure accurate maintenance of all system transactions, in line with Leaf Processing System (LPS) recommendations and internal audit protocols. Supervise leaf point data entry and reconcile semi-finished (OTP) production data precisely. Lead power user activities within the F2S system, swiftly addressing technical issues and enhancing functionality. Monitor and reconcile all yield calculations and production data to maintain operational integrity. Provide comprehensive on-the-job training and mentorship to team members for system functionalities. Manage follow-ups on internal audit observations, crafting action plans to meet compliance. Talent Development and Leadership Lead, motivate and develop the blending and processing team to meet business targets, while reinforcing a strong succession pool. Invest in continuous learning through tailored internal and external training programs, ongoing assessment, and targeted development efforts based on skill gap analyses. Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) and Other Duties Champion EHS compliance according to JTI principles, ensuring all team members understand and implement safety standards rigorously. Promote rider safety practices, ensuring that the use of PPE and relevant safety training are embedded throughout the team. Participate in cross-functional projects as delegated by functional management, supporting organizational goals. Collaborate with Agronomy on data collection, farmer training, and development initiatives as required.   Candidate Profile University graduate or equivalent experience in a relevant field. At least 5 years of experience in tobacco-related operations with in-depth knowledge of tobacco quality, blending techniques, internal classification and purchasing processes. Strong grasp of the tobacco supply chain from sourcing raw leaf to final blending and processing. Proven capabilities in Annual Strategic Planning (ASP), budgeting, and performance management. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills with the ability to foster teamwork and drive results. Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective engagement with stakeholders at all levels including customers and suppliers. Proficient in MS Office suite and capable of delivering professional presentations.   What We Offer
