About the Role:

We are seeking a Lead UX Designer to join our growing Health Markets team in Mexico City. This is a foundational leadership role that will help establish our UX design presence locally, supporting development teams working on authoring tools and content workflows. The Lead UX Designer will manage a small team of designers while also contributing hands-on design work

Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor a team of 2–3 UX designers.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support authoring tools used by internal content editors and Elsevier authors.

Drive user-centered design practices and ensure alignment with customer needs.

Conduct and oversee design research, usability testing, and heuristic evaluations.

Present case studies and design learnings to stakeholders to guide future projects.

Promote design best practices and foster a culture of collaboration and innovation.

Utilize design tools such as Figma to create prototypes and iterate on solutions.

Integrate AI tools into the design process to enhance efficiency and creativity.

Requirements:

6–8 years of experience in UX design, including senior-level roles.

Proven success leading design projects and mentoring junior designers.

Strong portfolio with case studies demonstrating problem-solving and impact.

Experience designing web or mobile applications (not limited to e-commerce).

Excellent communication, team-building, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Figma and other design/prototyping tools.

Familiarity with AI tools and their application in the design workflow.

Desire and readiness to take on people management responsibilities.

Experience working in collaborative teams with multiple designers.
