We are seeking a highly skilled Thermal Systems Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and validation of advanced cooling systems for high-density data center environments. This role focuses on ensuring system reliability, thermal performance, and compliance with industry standards through rigorous testing and certification processes.
What You Will Do
Design and optimize thermal systems for high-power-density environments, ensuring robust heat transfer and fluid flow performance.
Conduct detailed thermal simulations and CFD modeling to validate system behavior under varying operational conditions.
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans including hydrostatic pressure testing, thermal cycling, vibration, and shock testing in accordance with standards such as ASME, IEC, and ASTM.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure mechanical integrity, material compatibility, and corrosion resistance of wetted components.
Analyze field data and lab results to drive continuous improvement in system reliability and efficiency.
Support regulatory compliance efforts including safety, EMC, and environmental certifications (e.g., UL, CE, RoHS, REACH).
Author technical documentation including test protocols, certification reports, and installation guidelines.
Interface with external testing labs and internal stakeholders to coordinate validation activities and ensure timely delivery of certified systems.
Minimum Qualifications
Degree or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
BS with 10 years of relevant experience
MS with 7 years of relevant experience
PhD with 5 years of relevant experience
Proficiency in CFD and thermal modeling tools (e.g., ANSYS, FloTHERM, SolidWorks Flow Simulation).
Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer principles.
Experience with instrumentation for temperature, pressure, and flow measurement.
Familiarity with testing standards such as ASME, ASTM, IEC, and UL.

Experience in data center or mission-critical cooling systems.
Knowledge of two-phase cooling and refrigeration systems.
Background in automated testing systems and test bench development.

Familiarity with reliability engineering tools and techniques (e.g., FMEA, )
Annual or Hourly Compensation Range
The base salary range for this position is $130,100.00 - $195,100.00. This position is eligible for annual bonus pay based on performance, per plan terms. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.Benefits
