Lead Technical Safety Engineer
PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Work as a Lead Safety Engineer to supervise a team/subcontractor consisting of engineers, designer to perform technical and project related detailed design work.
RESPONSIBILITIES Lead a design team consisting of safety engineers, designers to perform safety detailed engineering and design work. Develop creative and innovative solutions that are reliable and cost-effective for problems and challenges when they arise Interface with customer senior technical personnel in developing solutions to these issues. Apply expertise to the development of new concepts, technologies, and/or products. Develop plans that impact the achievement of business results and participate in the development of business strategy. Influence senior management decisions that impact business direction. Lead the Discipline engineering design of the assigned work area and completed it within the planned schedule and budget, in accordance with standards and project-specific procedures and to a high professional standard. Plan, organize, and direct all aspects of discipline execution on the assigned project including scope, deliverables, schedule, and all manpower resources Act as Project Representative for Discipline during meetings with the Project Team, Customer Discipline Lead, and relevant agencies such as certifying authorities, auditors, third parties, etc. Develop advanced knowledge of project execution and managerial skills. Become fully familiar with the project scope of work, specifications, schedule, and all inter-discipline requirements; including identifying concerns as early as practicable and taking appropriate initiatives to address the issues Interpret contractual requirements as they relate to engineering execution. Maintain close coordination with other engineering disciplines, Planning, and Project Management Teams. Prepare, review and approve discipline engineering design basis, philosophies, and technical specifications. Participate in finalizing deliverables lists and deliverables, ensuring compliance with specifications and functional integrity. Attend project kick off and review meetings, vendor meetings, engineering meetings, and offshore site surveys, as required. Prepare, review, and approve design reports and procedures. Lead the Discipline team during project audits (internal, customer, and third-party technical audits) and Design Reviews. Participate in and fosters a work environment based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.  Manage and provide resources and support for software tools and services, including budgeting across disciplines and areas, per agreed allocation matrices.  Plan and recommend Discipline manpower, training development, and assist in recruiting resource. Evaluate performance and recommend changes in classification and compensation of Discipline personnel. Responsible for completing other tasks assigned by engineering manager
REQUIREMENTS Detailed knowledge of industry process standards and design methods used for offshore project, associated codes and standards. Detailed knowledge of Discipline design techniques and analysis methods. Knowledgeable in project execution and managerial skills. Different phase of offshore oil and gas EPC project design SOW and depth of design. Detailed knowledge of Engineering management and control procedure. Good command of spoken and written English, MS Office Suite application.  Good command of Safety design software PIPENET, PHAST, etc. application. Capable of performing safety system calculation. Capable of 3D model review tools Navisworks. Excellent in communication and presentation skills. Interpersonal skill and organizing skills. Team player and Strong sense of responsibility as a lead. At least having 17 years of working experience in Oil and Gas on safety detail design engineering. Minimum of 10 years of experience in oil and Gas offshore safety detail design engineering. With at least have done 5 offshore oil and gas safety detailed design projects With at least one project in Lead engineer role. Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Engineering. Be with valuable exposure to detailed design, estimating, and construction site. Preferred BSc Degree in Safety Engineering or Chemical Engineering and Technology Engineering.
