We are recruiting for a Lead Surveyor on a major LNG project in Mozambique, responsible for on & offshore positioning/survey activities & operations. Role will primarily based in Afungi with travel to other projects sites in country.
Role Overview
Liaise with Project teams to identify onshore and offshore positioning/survey activities. Manage bid evaluations, award recommendations, and contract document preparation. Issue survey elements for SimOps dossier or stakeholder requests. Support positioning activities for site surveys, rig moves, and pipeline inspections. Review Contractor specifications and ensure effective implementation of procedures. Perform QA/QC of survey results and collaborate with the Geomatics Team for GIS integration. Supervise survey-grade drone operations and validate final product accuracy. Conduct geodetic, topographic, and GNSS calculations using appropriate software. Provide insights on topography, positioning, and geodesy for ad-hoc requests. Define and implement a positioning data management policy based on Company standards. Manage company-owned survey equipment and recommend technological improvements. Oversee service company spending and ensure budget compliance. Ensure safety and environmental compliance during work and travel.Skills & Qualifications
Expertise in Rig Moves, Survey, Installation, Inspection and Metrologies; As well as Land Survey, Offshore survey including LBL, Sparse LBL, USBL, INS processing. Experience with CAD & positioning software (AutoCAD, Microstation, CIVIL3D) Familiarity with GNSS processing tools (Novatel, Leica, RTKLib) Knowledge of underwater metrology tools (Sonardyne Fusion, Kongsberg APOS) Experience with GIS and remote sensing software (QGIS, ESRI Suite, Global Mapper) Aerial photogrammetry and LiDAR survey processing expertiseEducation & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Hydrography, Geodesy, or Land Survey required; Master of Science preferred. Minimum 10 years of experience in Land Survey and offshore survey techniques. At least 5 years acting as Company Representative for positioning & survey activities.Pay & Benefits
