Job Description
We are seeking a Lead Substation Engineer who is passionate about engineering standards and quality improvement. The ideal candidate will consistently apply their extensive knowledge to ensure compliance with industry standards and our quality programs. As a technical specialist, you will design projects within your practice area and manage complex engineering deliverables.
ResponsibilitiesRemain current and apply knowledge of departmental design guides, standards, systems, and applicable engineering codes.Ensure compliance with quality programs and provide guidance to project team members.Prepare complex engineering deliverables and conduct research for equipment and materials selection.Manage budget, schedule, and quality requirements.Plan and conduct independent evaluations and adaptations of engineering techniques and procedures.Review lower-level engineering work and oversee data management for engineering projects.Coordinate actively with internal and external team members on projects.Identify and communicate client interests and drivers to project teams and develop approaches to address these concerns.Assist in business development and pursuit activities.Contribute to performance management processes, mentoring, and corrective actions as needed.Essential SkillsExpertise in protection and controls, high voltage, and electrical engineering.Substation design experience, including physical and protection & controls.Project lead experience as a technical leader, subject matter expert, and mentor.Quality assurance and quality control of substation design projects.Professional Engineering (PE) License.Written communication skills.Drive for results and priority setting.Planning and delegation skills.Ability to direct others and manage conflicts.Effective communication and listening skills.Ability to deal with ambiguity and build effective teams.Intermediate knowledge of engineering design principles and standards.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.Minimum of 8 years of related work experience.Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements, including background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle records search.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $116501.00 - $194117.00/yr.
