Lead Speech Language Pathologist
Mission:
The Lead Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will support, coach, and develop high quality SLPs who serve as the Special Education liaisons on their assigned campuses. The Lead SLP prioritizes multi-disciplinary collaboration for their regional members and monitors that high quality work is being completed. The Lead SLP will create a powerful learning environment for SLPs and will support them in tracking their progress towards organizational and departmental goals.
The Lead SLP’s ultimate goal will be to lead, invest, and retain SLPs by focusing on IDEA’s vision, mission, core values, and goals to guarantee success as an IDEA Special Education team member.

Location:
This is a full-time position located in Fort Worth (Tarrant County). Preference will be given to candidates who live in the region, or who are willing to relocate.
Travel Expectations:
Travel within the Region throughout the year as necessary.
What You’ll Do – Accountabilities
Essential Duties:
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Regional Lead will hire and retain high quality SLPs The SLP Regional Lead will monitor that effective transactional practices are being implemented by the SLPs in their region The SLP Regional Lead will create a powerful learning environment for SLPs
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the identification and selection of SLPs for their region as an integral member of the interview committeeCollaborates with Special Programs Staff to provide high quality opportunities for professional development based on regional team needs (i.e., Special Education, Response to Intervention, & Critical Student Intervention)Models optimal multi-disciplinary collaboration with other special education staff, campus leaders, students, and familiesHolds effective differentiated check ins and tactical meetings in order to provide consistent support for their SLPsMonitors and supports SLPs in meeting deadlines by ensuring 100% compliance by reviewing PEIMS & Frontline ReportsReviews that progress notes, tracking logs, & Medicaid billing are submitted consistentl Supports and coaches SLP on proper IEP documentation as per state guidelinesReviews SLP evaluation reports to develop and refine report writing skill Completes Quarterly Audits with each direct report to identify areas for improvement and capitalize on individual strengths for the teamObserves facilitation of ARD meetings and therapy sessions in order to maximize SLP effectivenessUnderstands the learning continuum for SLPs as they grow and develop in their role to differentiate the level of coaching neededUtilizes the SLP Rubric to determine individual/team strengths and professional development needs with Special Programs Curriculum Manager to provide high quality professional development opportunities.Additional Duties as assigned.

Additional Skills:
Ability to use the accepted tests and measurements to assess communication disorders.Knowledge of evaluation, habilitation, and rehabilitation of communication disorders.Ability to manage student behaviors and provide recommendations to general educators, special educators, interventionists, and parents.Excellent presentation, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Knowledge and ability to assess students for communication disorders and determine eligibility for services using various assessment tools.Ability to plan and provide appropriate individual and group therapy to students consistent with occupational therapy goals contained in Individual Education Plan (IEP) and collaborate with general educators, special educators, and interventionists in order to plan and implement classroom-based activities to improve communication skillsFacilitate and participate in the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee regarding interpretation of assessment data, appropriate placement, and goal setting for students with communication disorders, in accordance with IDEA Public Schools Policies and Procedures, Texas Education Agency (TEA) guidelines, and Licensing Boards.Develop and provide district wide trainings to school personnel and parents in the identification and understanding of students with communication disorders.Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required by IDEA Public Schools.Required experience:
Valid Driver’s LicenseMaster’s Degree in Communication Disorders from an accredited college or university.Valid Texas License as a Speech Language Pathologist granted by the Texas Department of Licensing and RegulationNational Certification of Clinical Competence granted by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA)Minimum of one year of pediatric and/or school-based experience in evaluation, habilitation, and rehabilitation of communication disorders and conditions.Preferred experience:
Oral and written fluency in second language, preferably Spanish.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires ability to frequently drive/travel in automobile.The ability to be able to navigate moving through campuses and classrooms to observeThe ability to spend long periods of time in front of the computer

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $89,600 and $105,300, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
