Lead Specialty Software Engineer

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Specialty Software Engineer to join the FX Risk Management team. As part of this team, the candidate is expected to design, develop, test, document, and analyze specific modules or features of new or upgraded software systems and products, which require knowledge in FX Risk Management area.


In this role, you will:

Lead complex initiatives on selected domainsLead and drive others across the team to effectively deliver and transform the way solutions are delivered across the enterpriseEffectively partner with business stakeholders and drives the requirements gathering, strategy, roadmap, and prioritization of work to deliver next generation solutions to our business partnersAdopt and support a culture of diversity, intellectual curiosity, problem solving and opennessSupport complex engineering initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impactResolve coding, testing and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging natureEnsure solutions are engineered to increase resiliency, operational efficiency and managed to mitigate riskPartner with production support and platform engineering teams effectivelyEnforce the adoption and implementation of modern design principles, standards and companywide best practices for engineering and implementing large-scale technology solutionsLeverage your understanding of industry best practices and new technologies to influence and lead technology teams to meet deliverables and drive new initiativesDefine opportunities to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing costCollaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goalsWork in a globally distributed team to provide innovative and robust Cloud centric solutions


Required Qualifications:

5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education5+ years' experience working with OpenShift and Kubernetes or equivalent hands-on enterprise experience with service-oriented design, development and implementation5+ years of experience in building, deploying, and implementing new solutions at scale using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, VertX, Reactive programming or equivalent

Desired Qualifications:

Functional understanding of derivates products and risk managementExperience building and deploying cloud-native services, using Operator SDK and Helm charts, ConfigMaps, Secrets etc. and Service MeshWorking knowledge of Cloud Foundry and experience migrating apps from Cloud Foundry to OpenShift/Kubernetes5+ years of experience in building, deploying, and implementing new solutions at scale using Java, .net or equivalent cloud-centric coding practices3+ years of experience with Agile, CI/CD, DevOps concepts, including tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Tekton3+ years of experience with monitoring, logging, observability tools (Splunk, Grafana, AppD, New Relic, Elastic, Open Telemetry)3+ years of experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid infrastructure setupsExperience using OpenShift / Kubernetes Container PlatformsExperience in designing, building, and delivering cloud-native, micro-services-oriented solutions at an enterprise scale for large financial services or other large, regulated sectorsExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to articulate technical solutions to both technical and business audiencesAbility to deliver and engage with partners effectively in a multi-cultural environment by demonstrating co-ownership and accountability in a matrix structureDelivery focus and willingness to work in a fast-paced, enterprise environmentExperienced in implementing risk and control requirements for cloud-native solutions
