What You Will Do:
As a Lead Analyst, Business Development, you will be responsible for conducting detailed financial, product, and market assessments of specific merger and acquisition targets and other inorganic opportunities. You will closely collaborate with all functional areas with an emphasis in finance, to develop financial models and presentations that quantify, qualify, and justify potential investment opportunities to senior leadership. Your assessments will encompass comprehensive research and review of industry trends, public and private companies, new products and technologies, strategic fit, contract terms, competitive analysis, risk analysis, and compliance within the corporate due diligence process.
Additionally, you will provide support to other members of the Instruments Business Development team by conducting ad hoc analysis and working on special projects as needed. You will conduct private and public company financial research and analysis and assist with Division Factbase and Strategic planning activities as well as managing departmental annual budget.
Construct and present financial models and rationale for executive approvalLead financial due diligence assessments of target companiesCollaborate with senior management teams to evaluate opportunities for expansion in core, adjacent, and new markets, from initial concept to analysis to recommendationAlign with Business Development and Business Unit stakeholders, particularly R&D and Marketing, to understand business needs, conduct critical segment research, and contribute to the shaping of business unit-level BD strategy for future growthLead the development of robust business cases and actively participate in key decision-making processesAnalyze, track, and deliver high-quality analysis of targeted public companiesImplement standardized reporting and presentations for large/public company targetsRoutinely conduct Comp Analysis based on available financials for private company targetsDrive regular competitive intelligence reporting and modeling for review by BU and Divisional leadershipEnsure high customer satisfaction through honesty, transparency, and integrity in all interactionsPromote a collaborative and problem-solving environment emphasizing teamwork and empowermentLeverage financial modeling to assist valuation expectations for BD strategic planning to include formal public co. DCF valuation and comps + private co. analysisCollaborate with Division Shared Finance to develop Instruments BD annual budget for analysis and reconciliation for performance to actuals/projectionsWhat you need:
