The Lead Sourcing Specialist – Buying/Procurement manages the end‑to‑end buying process for a defined set of goods, serving as the key interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders. This role applies sourcing policies, ensures compliance with specifications and budgets, and drives effective supplier execution.

Through strong procurement expertise, problem‑solving capabilities, and cross‑functional collaboration, the Lead Sourcing Specialist contributes to operational efficiency, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement within the supply chain.

As a Lead Sourcing Specialist – Buying/Procurement, you will be responsible for:

Managing the buying process for assigned commodities or goods in alignment with sourcing policies and business requirements

Creating, placing, and following up on purchase orders (POs) to ensure timely and accurate execution

Managing supplier relationships to support PO fulfillment, resolve issues, and handle schedule changes

Acting as the primary point of contact between suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding specifications, pricing, and delivery commitments

Updating and maintaining accurate data within the ERP system

Advising functional managers and cross‑functional teams on procurement approaches, processes, and best practices

Leading communication with colleagues and the business to resolve complex sourcing and supply issues

Serving as a project leader for medium‑sized projects or as a key contributor to larger, cross‑functional initiatives

Delivering measurable results within defined timelines, typically with work cycles of 3–6 months and impact horizons of 2–12 months

To be successful in this role, you will:

Have  a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
(or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in Sourcing)

Have a minimum of 3 additional years of experience in Buying or Procurement

Have a strong understanding of sourcing methodologies, procurement processes, and supplier management

Be able to manage multiple procurement activities while meeting deadlines and business priorities
