As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives. Candidates must have a strong curiosity for data and proven track record of successfully implementing AWS solutions with proficiency in software engineering. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of AWS solutions, Java, Python, and data applications.
Job responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable and secure AWS infrastructure using best practices. Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform. Architect and implement solutions leveraging AWS services such as EC2, ECS, Lambda, Load Balancers, API Gateway, S3, EBS, SQS, SNS, and other storage and messaging services. Collaborate with development teams to deploy application code to AWS environments, ensuring smooth CI/CD processes. Develop automation scripts and tools using Python to streamline operations and improve efficiency. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize AWS networking components, ensuring high availability and performance. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityExpert-level proficiency in AWS services, including: Compute: EC2, ECS, Lambda, Networking: Load Balancers, API Gateway, Storage: S3, EBS, Messaging: SQS, SNS Hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation. Strong knowledge and development experience with Python. Solid understanding of networking concepts and architecture on AWS. Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methodsProficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life CycleAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityIn-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systemsPractical cloud native experiencePreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsFamiliarity with Data Engineering and Big Data processing technologies (e.g., Spark, AWS EMR/Glue, Athena) and streaming services. Experience working in a Linux environment and proficiency with Shell scripting. Experience deploying application code to AWS and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools.
