As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities:

Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsExecutes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsCreates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systemsProduces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code developmentGathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systemsProactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architectureContributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologiesEnsures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholdersIdentifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience10+ years of experience in information technology with an emphasis on application development, demonstrated experience with applications development throughout the entire development lifecycle.Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityJava Development: ability to create medium/large sized Java web applications from start to finish on their own. This includes but is not limited to the following: client interaction, validating requirements, system design, frontend/U development, interaction with a Java EE application server, web servicesExperience with the various Java EE APIs, development builds, application deployments, integration/enterprise testing, and support of applications within a production environmentExperience in implementing Micro services using Spring Boot and Event Driven architectureAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityDemonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systemsPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:Experience with high volume, mission critical applicationsExperience with event-driven architectures using Apache KafkaProficient in coding in one or more languages preferably JavaPractical cloud native experience
