As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology Employee Platforms - Employee Compute team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respectRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceBS/BA degree or equivalent experience.5+ years of experience in Java/J2EE, JavaScript, Angular (v18), React (Advanced state management), REST Services; 17+ in Advanced Java 5+ years of relational database software development experience (Oracle).5+ years of experience with full development lifecycle from inception through implementation.3+ years of experience in AWS Technologies: ECS, Lambda, EKS, IAM Roles/Policies, S3, Kinesis, SQS, SNS.Experience with Databricks, managing Databricks Asset Bundles (DABS), and implementing Delta Live Tables (DLT) workflows.Experience with Agile (Scrum) methodology.Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals.Writing high-performance, reliable, and maintainable code; preparing unit test cases and validating results.Strong understanding of software engineering principles and practices, including version control, testing, and code optimizationPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to drill deep into issues to drive solutions.Proficiency in front-end technologies: Highcharts for data visualization, Bootstrap for responsive design, and UI Accessibility.Expertise in data processing and analysis using Spark (PySpark), Python, and SQL for handling large datasets and complex workflows.Proficiency with development tools: Jenkins, Git/BitBucket, Jira, etc.Understanding of software skills: business analysis, development, maintenance, and software improvement.Familiarity with Infrastructure as code toolset: Terraform.Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices; passionate about building an innovative culture
