As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banking, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities:

Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesExhibits knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systemsAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience8+ years of software development experience.Proficiency in Core Java/J2EE technologies and Spring.Expertise in full-stack Java, Python/R, AWS, CI/CD integration.Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityAdvanced in one or more programming language(s), primarily Java, ReactJSProficiency in automation and continuous delivery methodsAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityDemonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)Understanding of web technologies (e.g. React, HTTP, REST, HTML, CSS, etc.) Designing complex and rich UI based on Figma design specs

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills: 

Strong engineering experience, focusing on ReactJS, TypeScript, JavaScript and core JavaExperience with cloud platforms (AWS) and CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with modern front-end technologies, JS frameworks, solid understanding of Agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency and security.Practical cloud native experienceHands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing and operational stability, using different mocking solutions to perform front end testing in isolation.Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in an enterprise environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
