As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Asset and Wealth Management, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

 

Ensure responsibility for high quality software development and delivery from the team based in Bengaluru office. You will lead by example, writing critical pieces of code yourself and leading design and code review sessions. Utilize your deep knowledge of design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming, your team will raise their game even more, meeting your standards, as well as satisfying both business and functional requirements.Leverage your experience in one or more technology domains will help solve complex and mission critical problems, internally and externally. As a constant learner and early adopter, you’re already embracing leading-edge technologies and methodologies; your example encourages others to follow suit.Participate actively in code review sessions - Conduct peer reviews and group reviews. You will provide code review sign-off for your peer’s and team member’s code.Demonstrate functional expertise in understanding asset management trades and positions lifecycle is critical for long-term success of this role and the team under this role. While it is not expected that you have deep expertise in investment accounting for each asset class, it is highly desirable. Expect progressively that over time, you would build expertise and coach team members on how trade lifecycle works from front office to custodians / fund administrators to fund accounting.

 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience

BE/ME degree in Computer Science from a reputed university/college. Can consider non-CS degrees if there is strong relevant experience.Deep knowledge and expertise in Java programming - you should rate yourself 8 out of 10 or higher and be able to demonstrate during the hiring process. Experience working through entire lifecycle of large complex application build-out (from scratch) and delivery for either a large financial organization or a top-class technology product team. Experience in building and deploying applications for Private or Public Cloud.  Experience building a truly distributed architecture based system, especially involving large data volumes and real-time distribution.Knowledge of CI/CD like Jenkins, DevOps tool chain, and a test-driven approach to agile delivery is expected.Experience with implementing middle-tier data caching solutions (e.g. Gemfire or Apache Ignite) and/or designing/delivering messaging-based solutions (e.g. Kafka) Knowledge of modern architectures based on microservices, REST APIs, NoSQL stores (e.g. Cassandra), and event-based architecture will be key. Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate to all project members and stakeholdersMust be a team player who works well with technical and non-technical resourcesAbility to deal with and navigate difficult situations through strong teamwork and a focus on resolutionExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience in people management, willingness to lead 4-5 people
