Who we’re looking for


Toyota Financial Services Technology Department is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Lead Software Engineer. In this role, you will own the complete application architecture and development lifecycle, turning complex business needs into innovative, scalable software solutions. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a critical role in driving technical excellence and delivering impactful software that supports our business goals and customer success.

What you’ll be doing


Imagine leading the design and delivery of cutting-edge software solutions that empower business teams and delight customers every day. Success means creating modular, scalable systems that stand the test of time and evolving business demands. Your typical day will involve collaborating with architects, product owners, and engineers to solve challenging problems and elevate our technology landscape.

Lead full stack solution design using best practices like microservices, streaming technologies, and event-driven architectures to build modular and integrated systems.

Partner with domain architects, delivery leads, and product owners to translate business needs into timely, high-quality technical solutions.

Champion reusable software patterns, frameworks, and libraries that accelerate development and uphold architectural integrity across teams.

Support operations teams by performing root cause and preventative analyses to ensure system reliability and performance.

Develop and maintain clear architectural documentation to promote knowledge sharing and system sustainability.

Mentor and coach engineers to foster a culture of technical excellence, code quality, and maintainability.

What you bring

Bachelor’s degree that provides a strong foundation in software engineering or a related field.

10+ years of experience delivering high-impact software products with a proven track record of success.

3+ years as an Application or Solutions Architect designing enterprise-scale solutions using modern cloud-native technologies (AWS preferred).

Expertise in building reusable software components and shared libraries in languages such as Java, C#, JavaScript, or Python.

Deep understanding of microservices architecture, cloud computing, and non-functional software architecture aspects.

Solid knowledge of InfoSec and DevSecOps principles, especially within AWS environments.

Strong communication skills with the ability to advise both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.

Passion for mentoring and developing software engineers in system design and best practices.

Added bonus if you have

Advanced degree that deepens your expertise in software architecture or cloud technologies.

Specialized certifications in cloud architecture.
