Unity Lab Services offers a single source for coordinated lab service, support, and supply management. Our customized service offerings and world-class service experts have the flexibility and experience to uniquely address our customer’s laboratory's business needs.

What will you do?

Lead all aspects of the daily workflow for a small team to ensure excellent customer service.

Perform laboratory support in GMP and Non GMP lab environmentsCoordinate the coordination of laboratory instrument and equipment cleaning, calibration and maintenance services to ensure accurate operation and complianceMaintenance and monitoring of environmental chambers to ensure continued operation within specified parametersMonitoring of temperature-controlled environments, including excursion protocolsMay track lab equipment information including calibration schedules, open work orders, and equipment status using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CCMS)Maintain and report metric data for work performedSample inventory, process sample requests and initialization activities including receiving, storage, distributing and disposalStock and maintain inventory for consumables and equipment componentsMaintaining calibration recordsPerform on-site program replenishments and disbursementsParticipate in individual or group projects that can include coordinating space, cost savings analysis, learning groups, writing job training methods, and leading team meetingsDeliver on committed contractual scope of work. Assist with tracking business metricsLiaise between customers and Thermo Fisher Scientific; Coordinate onsite vendor escorting, customer visits, and identify savings.Implement SOPs, conduct site audits, and assist with completion of annual physical inventoryDrive process improvement culture by supporting Practical Process Improvement (PPI) initiativesRepresent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations, professionally and positivelyBe involved with and support safety programs such as hazard identification, conduct inspections and incident reporting/investigations as requiredMay perform other responsibilities as assigned by management

How will you get here?

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associate degree or equivalent experience in a related field preferred, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills. Military Service/Training in lieu of a degree may also be considered.

Experience

2+ years of related dynamic, proven experience in a laboratory setting required

Experience working in Good x Practice (GxP) environment and laboratory setting required, knowledge of OSHA General Industry requirements are also a plus.

Customer service and presentation abilities and social skills are required to lead and improve team cultureStrong verbal and written communication skills. This includes maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor in all interactions and upholding Thermo Fisher Scientific's values, including confidentiality.Demonstrates computer proficiency and possesses intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software.Possesses strong analytical abilities to problem solve, make timely decisions, re-balance priorities, and coordinate multiple overlapping priorities, while functioning in a fast-paced work environment.Ability to work overtime as required and respond to afterhours alerts.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Requires the ability to lift, push, and pull 30-40 pounds consistently; lift 50 pounds occasionally, including operation and use of pushcarts, pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.

Regularly required to stand or walk for prolonged periods.

Work areas may include spaces where chemical-based allergens are in use (penicillin, tetracycline, etc.). Depending on the area of the building, personal protective equipment may be required.

Ability to work overtime, as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $25.12–$37.67.
