As an HVAC Serviceability Engineer you will be responsible for championing serviceability requirements throughout every stage of our product lifecycle.\u00A0 You\u2019ll work hand-in-hand with product growth teams, quality, manufacturing, and service experts\u2014collaborating to deliver solutions that exceed serviceability standards and deliver outstanding performance for our customers.\u00A0 An ideal candidate excels at integrating the three dimensions of Service Lifecycle Management, driving value for both the business and its customers by maximizing long-term reliability, maintainability, and upgrade potential throughout every stage of the product journey.

This role impacts both Smart Services Products and Operations.\u00A0 It will directly report to the Director of Service Operations with a strong dotted line to the Smart Services Products team.

What you will do:

Service Lifecycle Management: Leverage deep expertise in serviceability to support Product Growth Teams (PGTs) across all phases of the product lifecycle in three key dimensions:

Serviceability:\u00A0Ensuring products are designed for safe, efficient, and straightforward repair and maintenance.

Serviceable:\u00A0Parts availability throughout the customer\u2019s expected lifecycle to facilitate ongoing repairs and maintenance.

Services:\u00A0Support Smart Services Product PGTs to develop and grow our Service offerings to upgrade and maintain products throughout every stage of the product journey

Serviceability Design:\u00A0Work with product growth teams (PGTs) and our quality organization to incorporate service-friendly features into HVAC systems, ensuring ease of maintenance and repair. Represent Services on PGTs in supporting their product life cycle management initiatives.

Smart Services Product Upgrades and Specials: Provide serviceability expertise to Smart Services PGT\u2019s in offering field upgrades and custom specials.

Field Support:\u00A0Partner with Technical Support teams and field technicians to provide guidance to PGTs that address those serviceability challenges.

Documentation:\u00A0Collaborate with PGTs in the development and review of service manuals, maintenance guides, and training materials to ensure clear and accurate service information.

Product Evaluation:\u00A0Conduct field visits to observe installations, maintenance, and repair activities. Gather feedback and identify design improvements. Lead efforts to integrate services, serviceable and serviceability

Liaison: Product lifecycle expert to drive upgrade or parts strategy for each product offering with the PGT\u2019s.

Continuous Improvement:\u00A0Conduct service technician needs assessments in collaboration with PGTs, and other key stakeholders like quality, to identify high impact areas for NPD serviceability improvements.\u00A0 This may include analyzing service records and warranty claims to identify common issues and propose design changes that improve reliability and reduce service time.\u00A0

Collaboration: Partner with PGTs to implement design changes and improvements.\u00A0Liaise with Quality, Manufacturing, and Customer Support teams to ensure serviceability standards are met.\u00A0 Lead Field Service Council to ensure field feedback is being acted on appropriately.

Compliance:\u00A0Ensure all serviceability aspects comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.

Lead Service Specialty Tool program: Partner with regional offices and engineering for after-market specialty tool needs and engage with engineering on NPD standard work to ensure service tools are addressed during the product design phase

What you will bring:

Bachelor\u2019s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; or equivalent years of technical experience required.

8+ years experience in HVAC system design, service, or related technical roles.

Strong understanding of HVAC equipment, components, and maintenance processes.

Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority

Sound project management, analysis, problem resolution, team building, judgment and decision-making skills

Outstanding communication and teamwork abilities.

Experience or knowledge of regulatory standards (ASHRAE, AHRI, UL, etc.) is a plus.

Experience working within a complex organization that spans many functions and geographies

Must be able to travel 5% - 10% of the time

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:

$133,633.33 - $186,830.00
