Koniag Management Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Lead Security Engineer to support 24x7x365 Security Operations Center (SOC) services for federal government clients. **Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include but are not limited to:** The Lead Security Engineer will design, implement, and oversee security systems and controls while providing technical leadership for SOC operations. Key responsibilities include: + Lead security architecture design and implementation + Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments + Develop and maintain cybersecurity countermeasures + Design secure interfaces between information systems + Create disaster recovery and continuity plans + Perform security risk analysis and mitigation + Develop security requirements and design documentation + Oversee system testing and validation procedures + Implement and evaluate security controls + Lead technical problem resolution + Design and integrate data backup capabilities + Maintain SOC operational efficiency + Guide tier 1-3 analysis teams **Education and Experience:** **Required:** + Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field, OR 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering + Active Top Secret clearance + Network engineering certification and/or industry certifications (e.g. Security+, CISSP) + Experience with SOC operations **Required Skills and Competencies:** + Expert knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and controls + Experience with security architecture design + Proficiency in risk assessment and management + Strong understanding of PII protection requirements + Expertise in system testing and validation + Knowledge of disaster recovery planning + Experience with incident response procedures + Strong technical documentation skills + Leadership and team management abilities + Experience with security tool implementation + Knowledge of NIST standards and guidelines + Proficiency in vulnerability management + Active Top Secret security clearance required **Desired Skills and Competencies:** + Master's degree in related field + Additional security certifications (e.g. CISM, CCSP) + Experience with federal security requirements + Knowledge of cloud security architecture + Expertise in threat hunting and analysis + Experience with SIEM platforms + Background in network security monitoring + Understanding of DevSecOps practices + Experience with automation and orchestration + Knowledge of emerging security technologies + Proven track record in SOC leadership + This position requires 24x7x365 availability in support of SOC operations.
