Job Description

As part of our Supply Chain Services Logistics Team, this role will lead routing & network optimization and improvement opportunities, as well as serve as a strong subject matter expert and trainer in our routing systems and processes. The successful candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills and a passion for problem solving. The team member will collaborate with internal business partners and provide actionable insight to drive Supply Chain strategy.

Main responsibilities

Ability to solve practical problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret a variety of instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variablesDefine and carry out routing and network optimization project plans under the direction of Supply Chain leadership; Collaborate with various stakeholders to understand business requirements and incorporate them into routing strategiesDevelop concise and creative analysis to identify performance improvement opportunities and effectively communicate findings with leadershipDevelop project plans, assign milestones and workload, and facilitate all communications of the launch with all partiesIdentify and raise issues that impact project quality, scope, timing, or costReview and validate data, build and validate routing and network optimization models, run scenarios, and present them for comparison and implementationUnderstand key business challenges and seek solutions to improve theseContinuously monitor and evaluate the performance of routing solutions, making data-driven adjustments as needed to achieve desired outcomes.Provide analysis on key initiatives to management.Provide training for appropriate Supply Chain Center personnel in systems, analytics, routing, and reporting capabilities.Collaborate in long-term Supply Chain departmental projects and initiatives.

QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Logistics and/or emphasis and Transportation or 5+ years experience in distribution/transportation.Proven experience in network optimization, routing optimization, and/or a related field within logistics, supply chain, or transportation industries.Proven leadership and project management skills.Thorough experience with routing and data analysis and familiarity with DOT regulation.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.Ability to travel (20%).Proficiency in using routing software, geographic information systems (GIS), and data analysis tools (RoadNet, Descartes, Manhattan, JDA, LLamasoft, etc.).
