General Summary:

Under the supervision of a Treasury Supervisor, performs a variety of activities related to revenue collection and processing at rail stations and/or bus operating divisions according to established policies, procedures, and guidelines for Dallas Area Rapid Transit's (DART) Revenue Systems Section. The lead controller/collector will also assist with supervisory tasks when needed and cover open shifts for various positions in the revenue department including Revenue Technician, Count room assistance, and will pick up mobile cash bins from bus divisions with the truck when needed. Follows established procedures and follows established safety precautions and regulations. Secures keys, lock revenue equipment, and store bins and audit carts in the storeroom at the end of the shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Dispatching Revenue Techs, and Fare Equipment Mechanics to support GFI-TVMs and Vix validators and GFI division receivers.Monitor the status of all Dart and DCTA TVMs & VIX validators.Keep the dispatch log up-to-date.Transports equipment and supplies from the revenue vehicle to the TVM using the TVM cart.Uses proper identification to log in and log out when opening TVM.Removes and installs Coin vaults, Hoppers & Bill stackers.Installs ticket stock.Follows all inventory and tracking procedures.Transporting cash bins to and from bus divisions with a large, armored truckRemoves, seals, tags, and identifies bin containing revenue; installs empty bin in receiver, logs bin removed/replaced; and loads bin(s) and audit carts into armored vehicle in accordance with established procedures.Following cash handling proceduresInventory and control of bins, hoppers, and vaults.Notifying management of unusual circumstances and incidentsMonitoring vehicles and equipment assigned to the revenue department to ensure proper maintenance.Performs other related duties as assigned. ​

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Note: An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be substituted for the below stated minimums excluding High School Diploma, GED, Licenses, or Certifications.

High School or a general education diploma.Four (4) years of experience in revenue systems, cash/money transactions, bus operations, and one (1) year of commercial vehicle driving experience.Pass a physical (medical) examination that includes a drug screen in order to operate DART non-revenue vehicles. Pass a background investigation and credit reference check in order to handle money.Proficiency in PC software applications, include Microsoft Office or other related software applications. Valid Texas Commercial Drivers License (CDL), no Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) conviction within the last sixty (60) consecutive months, not more than one (1) DWI conviction on driving record, and not more than three (3) convictions of moving violations within the last thirty-six (36) consecutive months on driving record in order to operate armored and DART non-revenue vehicles.Interpersonal skills to effectively and sensitively communicate with all levels of supervisory and non-supervisory employees, security and electronic services personnel, and others both inside and outside of DART.Analytical skills to find solutions to problems of limited complexity.Ability to demonstrate a fiduciary obligation to section, division, department, and DART in handling money, materials, and information of a confidential nature.Ability to operate DART vehicles, including buses, vans, and large trucks.Ability to learn and remain proficient with revenue department applications, including Trapeze, MS Word, Excel, and Access.Ability to be dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
