Lead Reservoir

Primary Responsibilities:

HSSE

Personal demonstration of strong HSSE leadership and champion a strong HSSE culture and safety performance in the asset. Has a duty to comply with the Company's Health, Safety, Security and Environment Management System and to do everything in his/her power to ensure that the workplace is safe for everyone. The engineer must ensure any data gathering programs they design or execute must maintain the highest of HSSE standards. The engineer must display maturity and competence at controlling incidents in order to mitigate their effects to personnel, environment and the Company's assets as far as reasonably practicable.

Reservoir Engineering:

Applies proven Reservoir Engineering workflows (Fluid characterization, Reservoir Surveillance, Production Forecasting, Material Balance, Reservoir Simulation, Reserves Estimation) and provides reservoir engineering support for all exploration, development, and production activities. Maintenance of 3D reservoir simulation models to  optimize the development plans and hydrocarbon recovery for all reservoirs in the asset portfolio.  Analysis of new well/reservoir data and organization of existing data e.g., well test data, PVT, SCAL etc. Assist in construction and maintenance of the integrated asset models including well and production system modelling. Assist in preparing production forecasts and hydrocarbon resources & reserves management for the asset.  Responsibility for issuing and maintaining an up-to-date Reservoir Management plan. Planning data acquisition & reservoir surveillance programs as per Reservoir Management Plan / Project Execution Plan in collaboration with the Production Technologist and Well Engineers. Present technical work to Management and Government representatives, as required.

People Development

Self-starter and curious to learning and developing self. Contributes to a high-performance culture through demonstrating initiative, effective communication, collaboration and seeking performance feedback. Performance shall be assessed on a half-yearly basis.

Organisational Structure

This position is within the subsurface team and reports to the Head-reservoir who in turn reports to the Head Subsurafce. Peers are petroleum engineers and geoscientists within the subsurface asset team The position will work closely with the other members of the subsurface team, surface engineering team and well engineering team in delivering the work scope.

Bachelor’s degree or higher-level qualification in Petroleum Engineering

Good demonstrable foundation skills in reservoir engineering workflows  and  knowledge of production engineering. Sound understanding of  fluid characterization and modelling, reservoir simulation, analytical well and reservoir performance analysis (well test analysis, nodal analysis and decline curve analysis),  production technology, field development planning process and reservoir management strategies. Exposure to reservoir simulation and functional user of Eclipse / Petrel RE. Preferable knowledge /experience of relevant Reservoir Engineering software like Petex IPM Suite, Kappa Saphir etc.  Good understanding of other subsurface and operational disciplines, e.g. Geology, Geophysics, Production Management & Well Engineering, Possess a genuine enthusiasm for reservoir engineering in its broadest context and have a strong sense of self-motivation. Eager to learn and implement best practices from experienced staff and to contribute to the further development of these practices. Good verbal and written communication skills as well as strong presentation skills.

Committed to the highest principles of ethics, quality of work with a strong commitment to Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) objectives
