As a Lead Research Technologist, you will independently design and develop experimental studies, analyze and evaluate data, and contribute to projects focused on molecular biology, enzymes, metabolism, and immune response. The role includes assisting with small animal experiments involving viral infection and tumor formation, performing protein purification and enzyme assays, and conducting molecular manipulation of nucleic acids and proteins. You will investigate protein–protein interactions and interactions with nucleic acids and small molecules, while working closely with senior postdoctoral fellows and graduate students to support ongoing research initiatives.

A caregiver in this role works days from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Plan, organize, perform, and monitor daily project protocols.  

Collect, prepare, and maintain required research documentation, including informed consent records, case records, clinical notes, and medical reports. 

Report and assist with the management of protocol deviations, adverse events, and other project-related issues. 

Develop, recommend, and implement changes in procedures for the various research laboratories. 

Assist with the preparation and delivery of internal/external presentations, conference reports/lectures, and publishing submissions. 

Assist with the design, development, and writing of extramural grant proposals. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Master's Degree in Biological Sciences or related 

Ability to conduct independent research studies and analyze and interpret data 

Ability to train and supervise new personnel, along with knowledge of the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment is essential  

OR Bachelor's degree and eight years of experience 

Six years of experience which must include previous independent research positions 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

Significant research experience in biochemistry or drug development.

Capable of troubleshooting when unexpected issues arise

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods

Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment

Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information

Ability to distinguish color

Ability to lift and transport equipment or specimens weighing up to 20  pounds

May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, bio-hazards, radioactive materials, etc.
